Why Our Students Keep Coming Back
There’s something rather lovely about seeing the same faces come back to the studio time and time again. For some people, a jewellery making workshop is simply a chance to try something new. They might book a one-day workshop to make a ring, create a sea glass pendant or learn a new technique, not quite knowing what to expect. Then they discover that they really enjoy it.
Before long, they’re looking at the next workshop, or signing up to the weekly term time jewellery making classes.
That’s one of the things we love about North West Jewellery School. You don’t have to be an experienced jewellery maker to get involved. Our workshops are designed to be welcoming for complete beginners, while still giving people with some experience the opportunity to develop their skills and try something different.
There’s also a lot more to the experience than simply making a piece of jewellery and taking it home.
Our studio is a friendly, relaxed place to spend a few hours being creative. You can come along on your own, meet other people who enjoy making things, or book a workshop with a friend or family member. For many of our students, that social side becomes just as important as the jewellery itself, and there’s always another project to try!
Perhaps you’ve started with a simple silver ring and want to have a go at setting a gemstone next. Maybe you’ve made a piece using sea glass and fancy trying silver clay, stacking rings or a completely different technique. With a variety of jewellery making workshops available throughout the year, there are plenty of opportunities to keep learning and experimenting.
For those who want to spend more time developing their jewellery-making skills, our weekly term-time classes offer even more freedom. There’s no set piece that everyone has to make, so you can work on the types of jewellery you’re most interested in, including making as many rings or other pieces as you have time for during the term. It’s a chance to build your skills gradually while becoming part of the regular studio community.
We also offer private group bookings, so friends, families and groups can get together and choose a jewellery-making experience to enjoy as a shared activity. It can be a lovely way to celebrate a birthday, spend time together or simply do something a little different.
The best way to understand what makes the workshops special, though, is to hear from the people who have actually taken part. In the video above, some of our students share what they enjoy about coming to North West Jewellery School, from the workshops themselves to the atmosphere, the people and the feeling of making something they can genuinely be proud of.
So, whether you’re looking for a creative day out, a new hobby, an experience to enjoy with friends or simply fancy trying your hand at making your own jewellery, you can hear directly from our students about what keeps them coming back.
