Hammer Time: May 2026 Edition

As we head into June, the studio is full of fresh energy, familiar faces returning, and plenty of exciting things happening here at the North West Jewellery School.
Our weekly classes return from week commencing Monday 1st June, and we’re so excited to welcome everyone back into the studio. Whether you’re continuing your jewellery-making journey or joining us for the very first time, all available spaces are now live online.
We are also pleased to announce that one day workshops spaces have now been uploaded for August and September! So, if you have been waiting for a place on a workshop, take a look before they get snapped up!
There’s always something special about the start of a new term - new ideas, new projects, and seeing creativity grow week by week.
A Little Sign of Summer
One of our favourite moments this month has been the return of the swallows, who have once again chosen to nest in our entranceway at Backridge.
Every year we look forward to seeing them return, and it always feels like a little sign that summer is on its way. Watching them flying in and out of the courtyard has brought such a lovely atmosphere to the studio, and many of our students have been stopping to admire them on their way in. Our Open Weekend
We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors to the studio during our upcoming Open Weekend on 12th & 13th September.
It’s a brilliant opportunity to explore the jewellery school, meet the team, see the studio space, and discover more about the workshops and weekly classes we offer. Whether you’ve been thinking about trying jewellery making for a while or simply fancy having a look around, we’d love to see you there.
Welcoming New Neighbours to Backridge
We’re also excited to welcome some wonderful new neighbours to Backridge, Roam & Revive. Their beautiful new wellness space has recently opened on site, adding even more creativity and calm to our little corner of the Ribble Valley. We’re so pleased to have them here and can’t wait to see their new venture flourish alongside the other amazing independent businesses at Backridge.
