Welcome to our June newsletter! It has been a fantastic month here at the North West Jewellery School, with lots happening both in and out of the studio. We were delighted to host Grace, our work experience student, who brought plenty of enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the space.
We also welcomed a special visit from the North West Business Award judges as part of our entry for the Community Impact and Small Business categories. They toured the school and spoke with some of our students, gaining a first‑hand insight into the creativity and hard work that goes into running the studio space that we all love so much.
Meanwhile, our term‑time students have been producing some truly amazing pieces as they continue to build their skills and confidence. It's always a joy to watch their projects evolve and come to life.

Workshop Spotlight
Whether you’re new to jewellery making or looking to expand your skills, we have a fantastic range of upcoming workshops to inspire you. Here’s a glimpse of what’s coming up:
Gemstone Stacking Ring Workshop 19th July 2025 | 10am–4pm
Create three beautiful skinny rings: a gemstone ring, a textured ring, and a charm ring. A great way to build a unique and versatile set of bespoke sterling silver rings.
Sea Glass Pendant Workshop
20th July 2025 | 10am–4pm
Design and make a one‑of‑a‑kind silver pendant featuring a piece of beautiful sea glass. Perfect for capturing a special memory or creating a truly unique piece of jewellery.
Byzantine Chain Bracelet Workshop
26th July 2025 | 10am–4pm
Try your hand at making an intricate sterling silver Byzantine chain bracelet. This workshop is ideal for those who love a challenge and want to learn a timeless technique.
Join Our September Term – Enrolment Goes Live on Friday 04 July!
If you’ve been thinking about joining one of our weekly classes, now is the perfect time! Our new term begins in September, and we’d love to welcome you to the studio.
Each week, the workshop is filled with a wonderful mix of activity - from the sound of tools at work to the friendly conversations between students. It’s a space where creativity thrives, new techniques are learned, and beautiful pieces of jewellery come to life.
Creative Collaboration Corner
This month, we’re excited to introduce you to Paint Pot. Founded by Claire in 2008, Paint Pot is a ‘Paint Your Own’ Pottery Studio nestled in Swan Courtyard, in Clitheroe
They pride themselves on providing a fun and friendly space for their customers to express their imagination and to produce something that is truly individual.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that they’re just for children. They also host monthly adults only painting evenings, arty parties, baby showers, hen parties, corporate team building days and more. Paint Pot is great fun for all ages and you don’t have to be an ‘artist’ to get involved.
Aside from pottery painting, Paint Pot hosts regular guided clay workshops, where you can try your hand at creating anything from sunflower bowls, vases, mugs and highland cows to their signature ‘boobie’ pot.
