Creative Collaboration Corner: Kate Illustrate

At the North West Jewellery School, we’re passionate about championing local makers, artists and small creative businesses - and our latest collaboration is one we’re very excited about.

We’re delighted to be teaming up with the incredibly talented Kate Illustrate, a Clitheroe-based calligrapher known for her elegant lettering, bespoke gifts, and beautifully curated workshops. Kate specialises in luxury calligraphy for brands and events, and her work blends timeless craftsmanship with a modern, stylish edge.

To celebrate our creative connection, Kate is offering 15% off her calligraphy workshops exclusively to NWJS students – a wonderful opportunity to explore a new skill and experience the calming joy of calligraphy.

Recently, we were thrilled to join Kate for a Gin and Calligraphy Night at The Nab Lab in Whalley – and it was every bit as magical as it sounds. A relaxed, laughter-filled evening of learning and lettering, it perfectly captured everything we love about creative collaboration: shared inspiration, skill-building, and a whole lot of fun.

Working with local creatives like Kate is at the heart of what we do. It’s about more than just events – it’s about building a community where art, craft and creativity can flourish together. We believe that when we lift each other up, we all shine brighter.
