Keum Boo Jewellery Workshop

Join us for an exciting Keum Boo Jewellery Workshop where you will learn the ancient Korean gilding technique of applying gold foil to silver. During this hands-on workshop, you will be guided through the process of preparing the surface, applying the gold foil, and burnishing to create stunning jewellery pieces. No prior experience is necessary, as all materials and tools will be provided. Come unleash your creativity and take home your own unique Keum Boo jewellery creations.

You will use the 24 carat yellow gold sheet to add decoration and patterns to your jewellery. You will start by designing and cutting your silver and then "preparing" it by heating and pickling it several times. This "depletion gilding" brings a layer of fine silver to the surface and allows you to then add the Yellow gold foil, which when heated is fused to the metal.
